Firebreaks done before the deadline

Compliant firebreaks, installed and maintained

If your council has sent a firebreak notice, the clock is ticking and the fines for missing it aren't small. We put in firebreaks to the width and standard your local government requires, on vacant blocks, acreage and rural properties across Perth and the surrounding areas. We can cut them once before the deadline or keep them maintained right through the danger period, so you're covered and compliant without having to think about it. Not sure what your notice actually requires? We'll take a look and tell you straight.

01.

Council compliant. Cut to the width and standard your local government notice requires, so you meet the rules and avoid the fine.

02.

Done before the deadline. Book early and we'll have your firebreak in before the cut-off date, not scrambling at the last minute.

03.

Kept clear all season. Optional maintenance through the danger period, so regrowth doesn't put you back out of compliance.

04.

Local knowledge. Requirements vary by council, and we can help you make sense of exactly what your notice is asking for.

Frequently asked questions

When does my firebreak need to be done in Perth?

Most WA councils require firebreaks installed by a set date before fire season, usually from around the start of November through to autumn. Check your council's firebreak notice for the exact dates, or send it to us and we'll tell you.

How wide does a firebreak need to be?

It varies by council, but a notice commonly requires a cleared strip a few metres wide around your boundary. The exact width and requirements are on your notice, and we'll cut to whatever your council specifies.

What happens if I don't comply with my firebreak notice?

Councils can issue fines for non-compliance, and may arrange the work at your expense. Getting it sorted early avoids both and keeps your property safer.

Do I need a firebreak on a small block?

It depends on your council's requirements, which sometimes exempt smaller blocks or require clearing around structures instead. Your notice will say, and we can help you make sense of it.

Can you maintain the firebreak through the season?

Yes. Regrowth can put you back out of compliance, so we can keep your firebreak and cleared areas maintained through the danger period, not just cut it once.
